16 to interview for Seventh Circuit and St. Johns County judicial vacancies

Seventh Judicial Circuit logoGov. Ron DeSantis has requested that the Seventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission convene for the purpose of selecting and submitting a list of qualified lawyers for appointment to the St. Johns County Court and the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court.

The Seventh Judicial Circuit includes Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia counties. These appointments will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Stasia Warren and the elevation of Judge Lauren Blocker.

The JNC will interview the following applicants 0n Friday, July 11, at the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center, Courtroom Annex 4010, Lewis Speedway, in St. Augustine:

Applicants that interviewed before the commission in 2025 may elect to appear by zoom or in person for a supplemental interview; no negative inference shall be made by the JNC should an applicant elect not to appear for a supplemental interview.

Members of the judiciary, Bar, and public are encouraged to contact the commission regarding the qualifications of any applicant for judicial appointment. All written correspondence regarding an applicant should be sent by email to Chair Travis Mydock at [email protected] no later than 12 p.m. on July 10. The chair will disseminate all information to the commission. An applicant in need of guidance should direct inquires to the chair by email.

All proceedings of the Seventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission are open to the public, except for deliberations. The current members of the Seventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission are:
