Florida Bar Family Law Section honors members at annual awards ceremony

The Family Law Section honored nine members for outstanding service and dedication at its annual Membership Awards and Installation Presentation, held June 25 at The Boca Raton.

More than 200 members from across the state attended the event, which also marked the installation of Aimee C. Gross of Ft. Lauderdale as the section’s new chair.

The Chair’s Award of Extraordinary Service was presented to Julia Wyda of Julia Wyda Family Law in Boca Raton and Andrea Reid of Reid Law Group in Boca Raton in recognition of their outstanding service, unwavering dedication, and continued commitment to the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar.

The Alberto Romero Making a Difference Award was presented to Brittany Lindsay of Brittany Lindsay Law in Tampa in recognition of her dedication in making a difference for Florida’s children and families through tireless service to the disadvantaged and underserved members of our community.

The Chair’s Keeper of the Flame Award was presented to Trisha Armstrong of Sasser, Cestero and Roy in West Palm Beach; Reuben Doupe of Coleman, Taylor, Klaus, Doupe, Diaz, and Torrez of Naples; Ronald Kauffman of Ronald H. Kauffman, P.A., in Miami; and Susan Stafford, executive director of AAML-Florida; in recognition of their “extraordinary and selfless service to the Family Law Section.

The Jorge M. Cestero Distinguished Member Service Award was presented to Laura Davis Smith of Davis Smith & Jean in Coral Gables for her years of dedication, devotion to improving the Section on all fronts, and for her never-ending desire to be at the top of our profession.

The Honorable Raymond T. McNeal Professionalism Award was presented to David Manz of The Manz Law Firm in Marathon, for his passionate service to the Family Law Section Executive Council performed with exemplary professionalism and courtesy towards those with whom he served.
