ABOTA to host free webinar on Florida’s upcoming civil justice reforms
Veteran civil trial and appellate lawyers Kara Rockenbach Link and Paul Regensdorf will host a free webinar in January that will feature an interactive discussion about the Supreme Court’s civil justice reforms.
Beginning at noon January 15, the 75-minute webinar is sponsored by ABOTA Ft. Lauderdale. Free registration begins December 13 and will be available at www.abotaftl.org.
“The webinar will be presented on the Zoom platform and is free for all to attend from across Florida,” the group announced in a newsletter. “This presentation is for judges, lawyers, paralegals, legal secretaries, law professors, and law students.”
Comprehensive revisions to Florida Rules of Civil Procedure take effect January 1.

A member of the Appellate Practice Section, Rockenbach Link is a founding partner with Link & Rockenbach, P.A., in West Palm Beach. For more than 20 years, Rockenbach Link has “successfully co-counseled statewide with thousands of trial counsel,” according to her firm biography.
Rockenbach Link serves on the Standing Committee on Professionalism and is its former chair. She served on the Special Committee for the Review of Professionalism in Florida, and in 2014 was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to serve a four-year term on the Fourth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission.
Regensdorf, a Palm City resident, is a 1972 Vanderbilt University Law School graduate and former Holland & Knight and Akerman Senterfitt partner. Now a solo practitioner, Regensdorf focuses on trial consulting.
“I am also frequently retained as an expert witness throughout Florida on a variety of legal matters because of my broad background, including in cases seeking or resisting attorney’s fees, charging liens and other fees disputes,” he notes on a LinkedIn profile.
Like Rockenbach Link, Regensdorf has dedicated countless hours to Bar service. Regensdorf has spent decades serving on Bar rules committees, and currently serves on the Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration Committee and the Civil Procedure Rules Committee.
