The Florida Bar Board of Governors seeks applicants for Judicial Nominating Commission vacancy nominations

apply online logoThe Florida Bar has the opportunity to nominate three attorneys for several Judicial Nominating Commissions to the governor for his appointment.

The Board of Governors is soliciting applications for the following Judicial Nominating Commissions:

  • Sixth District Court of Appeal (1 seat)
  • First Judicial Circuit (2 seats)
  • Second Judicial Circuit (1 seat)
  • Third Judicial Circuit (3 seats)
  • Fifth Judicial Circuit (1 seat)
  • Eighth Judicial Circuit (1 seat)
  • Ninth Judicial Circuit (1 seat)
  • 10th Judicial Circuit (1 seat)
  • 14th Judicial Circuit (2 seats)
  • 15th Judicial Circuit (1 seat)
  • 16th Judicial Circuit (3 seats)
  • 19th Judicial Circuit (2 seats)
  • 20th Judicial Circuit (1 seat)

Each appointee will serve the remainder of a four-year term, with the term commencing upon appointment. Applicants must be members of The Florida Bar engaged in the practice of law and a resident of the territorial jurisdiction served by the commission to which the member is applying.  Commissioners are not eligible for state judicial office for vacancies filled by the JNC on which they sit for two years following completion of their term.
