“We have worked hard, along with the Leadership Academy Committee, to continue building on a program with a rich legacy which focuses on promoting professionalism, teaching about the mission and organization of The Florida Bar, strengthening leadership skills, providing quality networking opportunities, exploring future issues facing the legal profession, and helping Fellows grow personally and professionally,” said Rebecca Bandy, director of the Bar’s Henry Latimer Center for Professionalism, which staffs the Leadership Academy.

Opportunity

During their one-year term, Academy Fellows follow a tailored curriculum, attending Florida Bar events and special educational programs designed to enhance their professional development and personal leadership skills while gaining insights into the legal profession as well as the inner workings of the Bar.

Among the topics covered during meetings will be:

  • An overview of the structure and functions of The Florida Bar
  • Identifying a personal mission
  • Brand building
  • Expanding your network
  • Creating a powerful support system
  • The Future of Law
  • Finding professional balance
  • Giving back
  • Communicating like a pro

CLE credits are typically awarded for most sessions.

Obligations

There are seven required meetings, totaling up to 14 business days throughout the year.
