Alan R. Rosenberg of Markowitz Ringel Trusty + Hartog in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale has been elected first vice president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida.

Claudia Casalis and Umberto Bonavita of Robert Allen Law attended the IYBA/MYBA Summit held at the Yacht Club de Monaco.

Giselle Gutierrez of Stearns Weaver Miller was awarded the University of Florida Levin College of Law’s Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.

Dennis G. Kainen of Weisberg Kainen Mark in Miami was a speaker for South Florida Tax Litigation Association on the topic, “The Government Sued to Shut Down My Client’s Tax Preparation Business. How Do I Defend Them In Court?”

Drew Dillworth of Stearns Weaver Miller was elected to the Meritas Board of Directors.

Roy L. Weinfeld presented to the Coral Gables Bar Association’s monthly luncheon, “Florida Post-Judgment Enforcement Law.”

Eugene K. Pettis of Haliczer Pettis & Schwamm and Rev. John F. White II of the Immanuel Temple hosted a Zoom discussion focused on combating healthcare disparity issues in marginalized communities.

Dominque Sciullo of Brinkley Morgan has been installed as president of the South Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

Richard Schwamm and Rick Allen of Haliczer Pettis & Schwamm participated in a “Trial Lawyers Bootcamp,” presented by the American College of Trial Lawyers, OCBA, ABA Litigation Section, and Federal Bar Association’s Orlando Chapter.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Catherine Peek McEwen received appointments by Chief Justice John Roberts to two committees of the Judicial Conference of the United States. She was appointed to the Committee on the Judicial Branch as well as to the Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules.

Brian H. Bieber of GrayRobinson was a featured speaker at the National Business Institute and presented a lecture titled, “Criminal Defense Trial Strategies A-Z.”

Erin L. Deady of Delray Beach spoke at the PACENation Annual Conference in New York City and the Florida Planning and Zoning Association’s Annual Conference in Delray Beach.

Jeffrey P. Wasserman, of counsel at Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Hermann, presented, “Collaborative Ethics and The Law in Collaborative,” at the 11th Annual FACP Conference.

John H. (Jack) Hickey of Hickey Law Firm moderated a panel on, “Building Blocks of the Traumatic Brain Injury Case,” at the American Association for Justice’s Winter Convention in Phoenix. He also has been reappointed to the American Association for Justice’s board.

Sean Pittman of Tallahassee was recently named to the board of directors for the American Diabetes Association.

Kim Nutter of Brinkley Morgan in Boca Raton has been appointed to serve on the Advisory Workgroup on the Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms.

Beth Walker Finizio has been elected to serve a two-year term on the board of directors of the Florida Justice Association.

Luke Newman was sworn in as president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers at the association’s 36th annual meeting in Palm Beach County.

Ron Kozlowski of Turner O’Connor Kozlowski in Gainesville received the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers President’s Award for his efforts in the past year promoting to the public the mission of the organization.

Julia Wyda of Brinkley Morgan in Boca Raton has been appointed co-chair of the Unified Family Practice Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.

Gerald “Jerry” Olivo of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt was a featured presenter at the 2023 Florida Attractions Association’s Conference.

Benjamin Sunshine and Salvatore Polidoro of Brinkley Morgan have been accepted into Class VI of the Florida Fellows Institute of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Jason Goldman of Davis Goldman in Miami was recognized with the “Healthcare Restructuring of the Year” award as part of the Global M&A Network’s 15th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards.
