Bar upgrading to new member portal

Members need to visit the website to set up a new username Regular News

The Florida Bar is migrating to a new member portal that Florida lawyers will use to electronically interact with the Bar.

The new MyFloridaBar portal will help members more easily conduct membership and e-commerce activities with the Bar. It will be phased in throughout the year, and will be used for the 2017 annual membership fee season. Members will receive an initial welcome email from the Bar explaining how the new system will work.

Members are encouraged to log in to the Bar’s website and follow the instructions displayed, titled “Log in to the New MyFloridaBar,” to create a unique username and activate an account in the new system for meeting registrations, continuing education purchases and credit posting, fee and section membership payments, and other e-commerce activities with The Florida Bar. The Bar is also advising members to make sure thier browser is updated to the latest version available.

As the system continues to be implemented, the new MyFloridaBar pages for members will also provide meeting materials for committees and other features.

Members must have their new login set up to pay their annual fees online beginning in May. The old system will not be available after May 1.

Ramsay said each member’s new username must be unique and must be a valid email address. For the vast majority of members, this won’t be a problem. However, he said, some lawyers — including some in government service — have a common email on record with the Bar for all the lawyers in the office. Those lawyers will have to enter a separate and unique username in the form of a valid email address for their individual accounts.

In order to register online for the 2017 Bar Annual Convention, members will have to use the new MyFloridaBar portal login. So don’t delay — once the old MyFloridaBar has been deactivated, members who have not yet created accounts in the new system will have to call the Service Desk or Member Services to do so.
