Bar works to bring members into compliance with trust account certificate requirement

The Florida Bar Protecting Rights, Pursuing Justice, Promoting Professionalism sealThe Florida Bar is again reaching out to members who did not complete their Trust Account Compliance Certificate when they remitted their annual fee statement and are now considered delinquent.

According to Rule 5-1.2(d)(5) of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, those who did not complete the Trust Account Compliance Certificate by September 30 are now considered delinquent and their public profile on the Bar’s website shows that they are not eligible to practice law in Florida.

Some 1,500 members did not complete the form and the Bar has been following up with emails and direct calls to assist members come into compliance. In the latest effort, the Bar began mailing letters October 14 to those still affected to offer help in rectifying the delinquency.

To come into compliance with the rules and be reinstated, members may:

• Fax the completed form, including both the Trust Account Compliance Certificate and Annual Pro Bono Report, to 850-561-9421.

• Email the completed form to [email protected].

• Call the Bar’s Membership Records Department at 850-561-5831.

The Trust Account Compliance Certificate is found on The Florida Bar’s website.
