Brittany Griffith recognized for the promotion of certification

BLSE Chair Judge Kansas Gooden, left, presents the Excellence in the Promotion of Board Certification Award to Brittany Griffith.
The Florida Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization & Education recognized Brittany Griffith at the Annual Florida Bar Convention for promoting board certification.
The Excellence in the Promotion of Board Certification Award recognizes excellence and creativity by a Florida Bar board certified lawyer in advancing the public’s knowledge of, and reputation for, legal board certification.
Griffith, assistant director of administration at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, is currently board certified in State and Federal Government and Administrative Practice (SFGAP). She has dedicated her entire career to serving the people of Florida and is known for her sharp intellect and strong motivation — evidenced by her earning board certification while still a member of the Young Lawyers Division.
Griffith currently serves as the immediate past president of the Florida Government Bar Association (FGBA). During her term as president, she spearheaded FGBA 2024 SFGAP series of board certification qualifying CLEs — many of which she personally developed and recorded. These CLEs are now available for free streaming to FGBA members.
Griffith continues to support SFGAP CLE initiative by organizing and presenting qualifying sessions at FGBA’s monthly luncheons. Most recently, in April, she presented a SFGAP qualifying CLE on Agency Rulemaking. She also serves as an officer of the Administrative Law Section, which actively promotes board certification in SFGAP. In that capacity, she has written newsletter articles encouraging attorneys to pursue certification and providing practical exam preparation strategies.
Griffith is also a member of the State and Federal Government and Administrative Law Certification Committee, where she has devoted hours to revising the certification exam and developing new questions. She is set to become vice chair of the committee for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
