Chappell wins William M. Hoeveler Judicial Professionalism Award
SHERI POLSTER CHAPPELL, a judge in the U.S. Middle District of Florida Court, received this year’s William M. Hoeveler Judicial Professionalism Award from outgoing Bar President Ramón Abadin during the Judicial Luncheon at the Bar’s Annual Convention. The award is presented to one who carries out Judge Hoeveler’s “ideal of professionalism: character, competence, commitment, and civility.” Abadin noted that, “In her time on the federal bench, Judge Chappell has displayed each of these characteristics by tirelessly committing herself to service of the law, the public, and the judicial profession. Her integrity, commitment to the rule of law, and professional character make her one of the most well-respected judges in Florida.”
