Clerks remind Floridians with court-ordered financial obligations: ‘We’re here to help’

Florida clerks logoThe Florida’s Court Clerks and Comptrollers are reminding Floridians that reasonable payment plans are available for those who owe court-ordered financial obligations.

Due to the economic downturn caused by prevention measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, individuals may find themselves in trying financial circumstances and the clerk say they are committed “to working with individuals to find the best repayment options to fit their circumstances.”

“Floridians should not be afraid to talk to their clerk about adjusting their payment plan, or agreeing on reasonable repayment terms during these trying times,” said Chris Hart IV, chief executive officer of Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers. “Clerks are willing to help, but they depend on individuals asking for the help they need. Otherwise, clerks may not know someone is having trouble making payments.”

More information about how clerks are responding to the Covid-19 emergency, along with a directory of county clerks, is available at www.flclerks.com/page/covid-19. The clerks have also posted a video to explain how they can help.
