Coker wins FJA lifetime achievement award

Martin Garcia, left, and Howard Coker JACKSONVILLE’S HOWARD COKER, right, was honored with the Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Justice Association. Presented by Tampa’s Martin Garcia, the award recognizes “a career of leadership, example setting, devotion, and courage.” A senior partner with Coker, Schickel, Sorenson and Posgay, Coker is well known in North Florida and throughout the state for his representation of clients who have suffered injury or loss, his contributions to the legal profession, and for his career-long civic service, notably in the field of adult and child literacy. Coker also is a past president of The Florida Bar, Florida Justice Association, and the Florida Board of Trial Advocates. “I am humbled and grateful,” Coker said. “All I’ve tried to do is make a difference for the people I represent and the profession I love.”
