Alexandre Silva

Alexandre Silva, the 17th Judicial Circuit’s network communications manager, participated in the Freedom 4 Miler Run on the Fourth of July. The annual event benefits “Believe With Me,” a national foundation that supports the Gold Star families of fallen soldiers. Silva, a 43-year-old native of Brazil, said this year’s event was conducted “virtually.” Runners were mailed a T-shirt and encouraged to run separately, with their $50 registration fee supporting the charity. “I wasn’t required to carry the flag, I just added that to increase my visibility,” Silva said. “I had a lot of support, cars were honking, it was really fun.” Silva has been keeping the 17th Circuit’s IT network up and running for the past nine years. Silva said he likes running after a busy day. “It helps my mind unwind and it gives me a better life.”
