Criminal Court Steering Committee invites comments on potential adoption of Section 90.404(2)(c)

The Criminal Court Steering Committee invites all interested persons to comment on the issue of whether the Florida Supreme Court should adopt section 90.404(2)(c), Florida Statutes, as a rule of evidence to the extent that it is procedural.

Section 90.404(2)(c) allows evidence of a defendant’s commission of other sexual offenses to be admitted in a criminal case where the defendant is charged with a sexual offense.

Comments must be received by the committee in either electronic format or hard copy on or before April 30. File your comments electronically to staff liaison Bart Schneider, at [email protected]. If you cannot file electronically, mail a hard copy of the comment to Criminal Court Steering Committee, c/o Bart Schneider, General Counsel’s Office, Office of the State Courts Administrator, 500 S. Duval Street, Tallahassee 32399-1900.
