CSK recognized for going ‘above and beyond’ in its support of guard and reserve employees
Cole, Scott & Kissane recently received the Above and Beyond Award presented by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
ESGR recognizes employers who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act by providing their guard and reserve employees additional non-mandated benefits. The award is given in limited numbers by state committees to employers who have had at least one of their managers recognized with a Patriot Award.
CSK Ft. Lauderdale West Managing Partner Kip Lassner, a recently retired colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves after 35 years, is a prior recipient of the Patriot Award by ESGR and accepted the Above and Beyond Award on behalf of the firm.
Miami Partner Scott Cole had the honor of signing CSK’s Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve on behalf of the firm. In doing so, CSK pledged to continue to appreciate the “values, leadership, and unique skills” service members bring to the workforce and to continue to encourage opportunities to employ guardsmen, reservists, transitioning service members, and veterans.
CSK has a history of supporting service members and their families to include serving as one of only a few Florida firms involved in the governor’s initiative called GI LAW, which provides pro bono legal services to current service members. CSK also helped create one of the largest Veterans’ Day events in Florida held in conjunction with the City of Weston and the YMCA.
CSK has also actively recruited transitioning active duty members to the firm, supported deployed military units and individuals with care packages and support from home, and, has continuously recognized veterans, families of veterans, and current service members who work at CSK, according to ESGR.
