The Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) hosted its annual Art in the Tropics: ¡Azúcar! AIT 2024 fundraiser at the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora on 1200 Coral Way. More than 250 guests enjoyed entertainment by Lisett Morales, known as la Mulata del Sabor!  CABA also celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The event benefited CABA Pro Bono Legal Services (CABA Pro Bono), a non-profit founded by CABA 40 years ago in 1984, and its mission of changing the lives of children, individuals, and families in need through legal advocacy by providing free legal services.

Ryon L. Little, an attorney at De Leo, Kuylenstierna & Little P.A., received the CABA Pro Bono Excellence in Justice Award for his support of its Veterans Assistance Program. Roberto “Bob” Pardo, an attorney at Correa & Martinez, was recognized for his installation as president of the Funding Florida Legal Aid (formerly the Florida Bar Foundation) which provides funding for pro bono organizations across the State.

“We are grateful for the generosity of our supporters and for the lawyers whose pro bono work helps those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford legal representation,” said Javier A. Ley-Soto, president of CABA.
