Dade Legal Aid hosts training to support pro bono attorneys representing trafficking victims
How can we help trafficking victims?
The answer often starts with education. Dade Legal Aid staff and Put Something Back pro bono attorneys, along with co-sponsoring voluntary bar associations, recently participated in specialized training by Kristi House on the “Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children.” Dade Legal Aid Children’s Project is supported by Funding Florida Legal Aid FFLA to ensure “every child’s voice is heard, including foster youth who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation,” according to Dade Legal Aid.
“We are grateful to GrayRobinson for hosting the first in a series of trainings presented by Dade Legal Aid and Kristi House to recruit and train pro bono attorneys to represent child victims in G.R.A.C.E. Court,” said Brittany Bonner, a pro bono project attorney and child advocacy coordinator. “Thank you to Kristi House prevention specialists Luanda Hart and Magdala Pierre for their informative, interactive presentation on representing young victims.”
