Dade Legal Aid staff joins 'Walk in My Shoes' to support abuse awareness months

The staff of Dade County Legal Aid Society, including Jilliane Garcia, Yasmine Hernandez, Liz Marquardt, Ivonne Lewis, Wendy Arauz, Gina Lewis and Steven Paulson, participated in Lauren’s Kids, “Walk in My Shoes,” event in support of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The staff of Dade County Legal Aid Society recently participated in Lauren’s Kids, “Walk in My Shoes,” in Homestead in support of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Lauren’s Kids Walk is a 1,500-mile statewide awareness walk that began in Key West and concludes near the Florida Capitol, with participants walking approximately 25 miles each day across multiple locations. Dade’s Legal Aid joined South Dade community members, advocates, survivors, and local law enforcement, including the chief of Homestead Police, representatives from Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office and FHP, to raise awareness, provide resources, and support survivors impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse, and related civil legal issues.
Dade Legal Aid, provider of critical legal services to survivors throughout Dade County, was represented by team members, Jilliane Garcia, Yasmine Hernandez, Liz Marquardt, Ivonne Lewis, Wendy Arauz, Gina Lewis, Brenda Vega, and Steven Paulson.
