Delray Beach lawyer participates in Southern Most AIDS/HIV Ride

ERIN DEADY OF DELRAY BEACH recently participated in the Southern Most AIDS/HIV Ride from Miami to Key West. The ride left from the University of Miami and ended at the Truman Waterfront Pier and was 165 miles with 100 the first day and 65 the second day. This is the sixth time Deady has completed the SMART Ride, which raised over $1.36 million to benefit organizations including Broward House, Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Centers, Metro Inclusive Health, Pridelines, AIDS Help, Miracle of Love and Compass Community Center. The SMART Ride draws over 500 riders from around the world. More than 200 volunteers assist the riders make their journey with traffic, water, food, medical, and logistical support. “We’ve been training since July, so we felt like we were ready, but it’s a tough long two days no matter how hard you train,” Deady said. “Its an incredibly powerful feeling to know that you rode all that way, and you did it to help people that really need the support.”
