Following a nationwide search, Dierdre Dunham has been selected as the newest trial court administrator for the 11th Judicial Circuit.

In a statement, Chief Judge Nushin G. Sayfie praised Dunham’s “vision and dedication.”

“Ms. Dunham isn’t just an excellent choice – she is the best choice for the 11th Judicial Circuit,” Judge Sayfie said. “She has proven to be a thoughtful and forward-thinking leader who helped us turn the challenges of COVID-19 into a more flexible court environment for judges, staff, and the community we serve.”

Dunham was selected by a search committee that included the administrative judges from every division of the Miami-Dade circuit and county courts, according to a statement.

Court administrators credit Dunham with establishing contact tracing, incident reporting and pandemic-related leave policies, and playing a key role in the 11th Circuit’s transition to remote work.

The former labor and employment attorney was hired as assistant general counsel in 2002 and appointed chief personnel officer in 2018. She succeeds Sandra Lonergan, who is scheduled to retire June 30 after serving as trial court administrator for 13 years.
