Eighth Circuit suspends jury trials for the week of January 4

Eighth Circuit COVID informationDue to COVID concerns, Eighth Circuit Chief Judge Mark W. Moseley has suspended jury trials for the week of January 4.

Jurors summoned for that week in Alachua (criminal) and Levy (civil) counties do not have to report. All court proceedings which do not involve jurors in the Eighth Circuit will remain as scheduled.

Earlier this month, 11th Circuit Chief Judge Bertila Soto suspended jury trials through January 31 in order to protect the health and safety of the community and court staff during the COVID-19 pandemic and Sixth Circuit Chief Judge Anthony Rondolino temporarily suspended all jury trials in Pasco County until at least January 4 due to a recent spike there in positive COVID-19 tests, among other factors.
