An article in the December 15, 2016, Florida Bar News on time standards related to service via email erroneously equated electronic service through the court system’s statewide e-filing portal to an instantaneous service method similar to email.
Actually, under procedural rules, electronic service through the portal is considered a form of email service and thus subject to the same time standards as email service.
