Rep. Duran
Turns out there are 44 lawyers in the Florida Legislature, not the 43 reported in the December 15 News.
The News missed Rep. Nicholas X. Duran, D-Miami, who was elected in 2016. Now counting Duran, there is one more lawyer serving in the Legislature than a year ago.
Also in the December 15 News, a story on on Sen. Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, mistakenly got Christina Spudeas’ first name wrong and erroneously said Spudeas, executive director of Florida Children’s First, was a member of the Bar’s Legal Needs of Children Committee. She is not, although members of her organization are or have been members.
