Ethics Opinion 87-4 to be modified or withdrawn
The Professional Ethics Committee will consider withdrawing or modifying Florida Ethics Opinion 87-4 at its meeting to be held in conjunction with The Florida Bar Annual Convention at 2 p.m. June 28, at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. The opinion concludes that a lawyer may offer personal injury clients a choice between two contingent fee contracts with differing percentage fees depending on whether the client or the lawyer assumes responsibility for submitting the client’s medical bills for payment. Neither percentage may exceed the ceilings imposed by the Florida Supreme Court.
