Erik P. Raines of Hill Ward Henderson has become certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Court Mediator.

Jacob Cremer of Stearns Weaver Miller has been elected to the board of directors for the Tampa Bay Builders Association.

Ross Hartog of Markowitz Ringel Trusty + Hartog spoke on secured transactions for the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.

Christina Russo Walters of Community Legal Services had her article, “Medical-legal partnerships can mitigate climate health impacts on the underserved,” published in Family Practice.

Gary A. Forster of ForsterBoughman presented, “The Inflation Reduction Act and its impact on Corporate and Personal Planning,” at the FICPA South Florida Accounting Conference.

Jackie Perczek of Black Srebnick, wrote an article for the Chambers & Partners Global Practice Guide, White Collar Crime 2022, USA Trends & Developments titled, “2022 Trends in Corporate Criminal Enforcement — The Justice Department is Coming for You.”

Roy L. Weinfeld has become certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Court Mediator.

Elaine F. Cohen of Pembroke Pines, received the 2022 Jim Baen Memorial Short Story Award for her story, “Man on the Moon.” Written under her pen name “Elaine Midcoh,” the story is about a lawyer vacationing at a lunar resort when she is called to defend a tourist accused of the first murder on the moon.

Mike Dal Lago of Dal Lago Law was appointed a director for the Southwest Florida Federal Bar Association.

James Michael Shaw, Jr., of Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig was presented the NAACP Hillsborough County Branch’s Thurgood Marshall Unsung Hero Award at its annual Freedom Fund Dinner.

Thomas C. Shaw of ForsterBoughman presented, “Protect Your IRA Planning from the New SECURE Act Proposed Regulations.”

Eric C. Boughman of ForsterBoughman and Judge Carmine Bravo participated in the Seminole County Legal Aid Society’s Veterans Free Legal Advice Clinic.

Blake Sando of Cole, Scott & Kissane was the guest speaker at the October CLE Luncheon for the Coral Gables Bar Association where he presented, “Avoiding Adversaries: Suggested Best Practices to Avoid Exposure to Legal Malpractice.”
