FFLA publishes videos promoting pro bono work
To encourage Florida lawyers to engage with pro bono work, FFLA has created promotional videos that are now published on FFLA’s website. The videos highlight the benefits of pro bono work for lawyers, recognize the positive impact of pro bono service, and are free for FFLA grantees to use.
“FFLA works to support our grantees with tangible resources in addition to funding,” FFLA Executive Director Donny MacKenzie said. “Our grantees are busy serving a very large client base, and we hope that this resource helps them find more volunteer private attorneys to provide pro bono services.”
The videos individually feature the following topics:
- Benefits of pro bono work in civil legal cases, like family law
- Legal housing issues and how pro bono work can help low-income tenants and homeowners
- How pro bono work can help domestic violence survivors
- Common misconceptions surrounding pro bono work
- Experience offered to young lawyers by doing pro bono work
- Why Florida lawyers should engage with pro bono work
The videos were published in October, during Pro Bono Month. At grantees’ requests, FFLA will customize the videos to contain their logo. FFLA encourages grantees to share the videos with their networks with the goal of encouraging Florida lawyers to undertake more pro bono cases.
