Scholarship being awarded

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY third-year law student Sahara Fonseca was recently awarded the 2019 Alex Alvarez Scholarship in Trial Advocacy. Underwritten by Coral Gables-based trial lawyer Alex Alvarez of The Alvarez Law Firm, the $1,000 scholarship recognizes student excellence in trial advocacy in the classroom, courtroom, and community. Fonseca served as vice president of the FIU Trial Team and will begin her legal career as an assistant public defender in Miami.
