Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers installs 2025–2026 Board of Directors, welcomes Doug Chorvat, Jr., as president

The Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers (FCCC) has installed its 2025–2026 board of directors, ushering in a new chapter of leadership with Hernando County Clerk Doug Chorvat, Jr., taking the helm as president.
Chorvat and the newly appointed board will serve a one-year term, guiding the association’s continued mission to strengthen Florida’s court and financial systems through integrity, innovation, and service.
“I am honored and humbled to serve as Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers’ next president,” Chorvat said. “I want to extend my sincere thanks to my friend and colleague, Tiffany Moore Russell, for her exceptional leadership, vision and steadfast commitment to advancing the mission of our association. I look forward to building on that momentum as we continue to serve our communities with integrity, innovation and excellence.”
Russell said she’s had the privilege of working closely with Chorvat and FCCC is in “excellent hands.
“He is a committed and thoughtful leader who brings not only a deep understanding of our mission, but also a proven track record of advancing clerk technology and key initiatives that strengthen our collective impact,” Russell said. “I look forward to seeing how he continues to elevate our work and advocate for the vital role clerks play across Florida.”
Chorvat was sworn in by Melvin Cox, FCCC chief technology officer on June 18 and his presiding term begins July 1. During the FCCC Summer Conference, Chorvat also announced his presidential theme which will guide initiatives during his tenure: “Reaching New Depths.”
Miami-Dade Clerk Juan Fernandez-Barquin, a member of the Bar, is the newest member of the FCCC Executive Committee, taking on the role of secretary, and Pasco Clerk Nikki Alvarez-Sowles is the newest member of the board of directors, taking on the role of District VI director.
The 2025-2026 FCCC Executive Committee members include President Chorvat; Marion County Clerk Gregory C. Harrell, president-elect; Putnam County Clerk Matt Reynolds, vice president; Wakulla County Clerk Greg James, treasurer; and Fernandez-Barquin, secretary)
