Florida Speaker Paul Renner appoints full house leadership team

Florida House Speaker Paul Renner rounded out his leadership appointments December 2 as he announced the full list of committee chairs, vice chairs, and whips for the 2022-2023 Legislative Session.
These appointments come on the heels of Renner naming his primary leadership team prior to the Legislature’s organizational session November 22. During the initial round of appointments, Renner named Rep. Tommy Gregory, R-Lakewood Ranch, as the chair of the House Judiciary Committee.
Gregory, an attorney, and Air Force Academy alumnus served in the Air Force from 1994-2014. A 2000 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Gregory was first elected to the House in 2018 and reelected subsequently.
On December 2, Renner filled out his judiciary team with Rep. Will Robinson, R-Bradenton, as chair of the Civil Justice Subcommittee. Robinson, a Florida Bar member, and real estate attorney is a 2000 graduate of Stetson University College of Law.
Additionally, Renner picked Rep. Keith Truenow, R-Tavares, to lead the Criminal Justice Subcommittee. Truenow, a United States Air Force veteran and businessman, served on the Judiciary Committee during Speaker Chris Sprowls tenure for the 2020-2022 term.
