Glorioso, Murphy join the Journal & News staff

Alexandra Glorioso
Alexandra Glorioso and Kevin C. Murphy, Jr., have joined The Florida Bar Journal & News staff as senior editor and associate editor, respectively.
Glorioso worked previously as a freelance reporter for the New York Times, and as CEO and founder of Barred Owl Press in Tallahassee, a media company dedicated to educating and empowering patients. She also served as Florida health correspondent for Politico.
Glorioso’s other assignments have included freelance reporter for the Tehran Bureau at the Guardian in Washington, D.C., and as an associate researcher at the Brown Institute at Columbia University.
Glorioso earned an M.S. in journalism from Columbia Journalism School in New York City in 2014, and a B.S. in Economics from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University in 2010.
She’s been in Tallahassee since 2017 and lives in Midtown with her husband, Lawrence Mower, a government reporter for the joint Tampa Bay Times and Miami Herald bureau.

Kevin C. Murphy, Jr.
Murphy most recently worked as a news producer for ABC affiliate WTXL in Tallahassee, where he responded to breaking news stories and used graphics, video, and research to produce daily content.
Prior to that, Murphy freelanced for The Herald in Havana, where he covered the Gadsden County Commission and wrote about places of local interest.
Earlier in his career, Murphy worked as a student assistant at Hartsfield Elementary School in Tallahassee, as an adventure course guide at Tallahassee Museum, and as a divemaster in Key Largo.
A Guardian ad Litem Foundation volunteer for the Second Judicial Circuit, Murphy earned a B.A. in Editing, Writing, and Media at Florida State University in 2020.
