Health Law Section’s Wellness Program opens to all Florida Bar members

Jamaal Jones
The Health Law Section launched its 2025 Wellness Program in January, a free initiative designed to promote mental and physical well-being for section members and improve the practice of law.
In advance of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, the section is opening the wellness series to all Florida Bar members — an opportunity to focus on improving health and quality of life while connecting with peers who understand the pressures of the legal profession.

According to Health Law Section Chair Jamaal Jones, the wellness series is intended to foster a healthier and more balanced legal community.
“Mental health challenges, substance abuse, and burnout are well-documented issues in the legal profession,” said Jones. “Balancing physical activity and mental health can help manage and reduce stress, enhance overall well-being, and boost mental clarity.”

Veronika Frey
The HLS Wellness Program features weekly personal training sessions on YouTube and monthly, virtual meditation sessions. The instructors are Veronika Frey, a personal fitness coach and professional athlete, and Dr. Samani Pratibha Pragya, a scholar of Jain Studies and dedicated Preksha Meditation guide.
Interested participants should email Health Law Section Program Administrator Emily Young at [email protected] to sign the required waiver and gain access to the YouTube and Zoom links. Each participant must submit an individual waiver, even if multiple members are from the same firm or office.
