HAWL families along with court administration and clerk personnel and their children enjoyed observing a mock trial, touring the courthouse, and hearing from special guest speakers each year. Due to the pandemic limiting such activities, HAWL creatively honored the event by presenting members with the children’s book, “A Story of Lawyers,” by Florida lawyer Jacqueline Buyze. Buyze signed copies and HAWL sent the books to members along with artwork created by some of the children. Pictured are 13th Circuit Judge Emily Peacock, along with her lawyer daughter Sara Peacock, and Sara’s children (Emma, 7, and Noah, 5).
