It’s a boy . . . and another boy!
FLORIDA’S LEGAL FAMILY JUST GOT BIGGER — by two. Lex Marie Murphy, a recent FSU Law grad and her husband, Assistant Public Defender (13th Judicial Circuit) Patrick Murphy, are celebrating the birth of twins, Lex confirmed in an email to the News: “Yes, the babies were born healthy & safe yesterday at 32 weeks on May 16 — both at 8:35 a.m. Maxwell is 3lbs, 15oz and Miles is 3lbs, 13oz. Our family is overjoyed!” A rare condition called “MoMo,” short for “monoamniotic monochoriotic,” in which the babies shared a placenta and an amniotic sac, confined Murphy to Tampa General Hospital for around-the-clock monitoring since the 25th week of pregnancy. Lex didn’t let that delay her lifelong dream of becoming an attorney, so earlier this month, she was sworn into The Florida Bar in a hospital conference room in a ceremony officiated by family friend and 13th Judicial Circuit Public Defender Julianne Holt.
