It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the passing of my dear friend, mentor and Law Partner James V. Dolan, referred to by his friends as “Jimmy” who passed away on March 13, 2022, at the age of 91.
Jimmy was a founding Partner of McFarlane & Dolan. Jimmy was honored by the Florida Supreme Court for 50 years of service to the Florida Bar, having practiced law for over 62 years. In his later years Jimmy mediated hundreds of claims with the same wit and charm he used as an insurance defense attorney.
Jimmy was a legal pioneer as a defense attorney in Florida. Jimmy was known for his wit, charm, optimism, and the practical solution to complex legal claims. He was deadly as a defense attorney because claimants liked him. He had a Philly boxer mentality who could kill you with kindness. Our entire McFarlane Law family mourns the loss of this legal legend, and he will be sadly missed.
