Jones Foster supports Loggerhead Marinelife Center as May beach cleanup sponsor
Jones Foster is the May sponsor the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Blue Friends Society Self-Guided Public Beach Cleanups.
The sponsorship help LMC continue to provide supplies necessary for public beach cleanups as part of its ocean conservation efforts.
On May 11, Jones Foster employees and guests gathered at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach to pick up trash and plastic littering the shore that could prove harmful to marine life, including nesting sea turtles. The team was successful in collecting a variety of unwanted debris, including microplastics, food wrappers, empty water bottles, and plastic beach toys left behind.
Following the cleanup, employees and guests brought their collected waste to LMC’s Marine Debris Sorting Station. The conservation department sorts and documents every piece of trash collected to identify major types and sources of pollution. LMC uses this information to develop targeted outreach and education programs to reduce the amount of pollution entering the ocean. Several members of the team stayed for a tour of the facility to learn more about LMC’s ocean conservation practices and sea turtle rehabilitation program.
As part of the JF Impact “100” initiative, the firm donated $100 to LMC on behalf of each employee who attended the beach cleanup to amplify their impact within the community. The firm donation will go toward medical supplies LMC needs to support its efforts in sea turtle rehabilitation as well as provide field trips for the Palm Beach County School District’s Title I Schools.
The JF Impact “100” initiative is a series of community service projects created to support local nonprofits throughout the year as the firm celebrates 100 years as legal counselors in Palm Beach County.
