Jones Foster purchased 100 backpacks and school supplies for an in-house assembly event at the firm’s West Palm Beach office. The backpacks with supplies will be distributed to Pleasant City Elementary School students in West Palm Beach, one of 88 eligible schools in the county.

Jones Foster recently sponsored the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County’s 2024 Back-to-School Campaign to help ensure the district’s highest-need students “have access to essential supplies to engage in meaningful learning opportunities and experience a more equitable classroom environment throughout the academic year.”

Through the Jones Foster Impact community involvement program, the firm purchased 100 backpacks and school supplies for an in-house assembly event at the firm’s West Palm Beach office. The backpacks with supplies will be distributed to Pleasant City Elementary School students in West Palm Beach, one of 88 eligible schools in the county.

Education Foundation President/CEO James Gavrilos addressed event participants about the nonprofit’s work, providing stories of the need experienced by one in five children in the county who live in poverty and how corporate sponsorship and volunteering are critical to its programs. Jones Foster shareholder Travis Foels is a member of the organization’s Young Professionals volunteer group who work to increase awareness and funding for these programs

This Jones Foster Impact “100” initiative is one of a series of community service projects created to support local nonprofits throughout the year as the firm celebrates 100 years as legal counselors in Palm Beach County.

The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County seeks to facilitate student achievement by supporting high-quality public education through partnerships and community collaborations, grants, events, scholarships, and public awareness. It offers many programs that support students, teachers, principals, and schools throughout the district, including Red Apple Supplies Store in Riviera Beach. Since 2016, the store has distributed nearly $5.5 million worth of school supplies to teachers and students throughout the county. The nonprofit is the philanthropic partner of the Palm Beach County School District, which is the 10th-largest district in the nation and the fifth-largest in Florida.
