Judge Jeffrey T. Kuntz has been named chief judge of the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

As chief judge, Judge Kuntz will oversee all administrative functions of the court, including budgeting, scheduling, and bench-bar relations.

Judge Kuntz was appointed to the court in November 2016. Prior to his appointment, he was a shareholder at a Florida-based law firm, where he focused on appellate law and civil litigation. He is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School.

The court extended its gratitude to Chief Judge Mark Klingensmith, who has served as chief since June 2022. Judge Klingensmith stated that it has been a privilege to serve over the past three years — a role made possible through the collaboration of the court’s judges and staff. He also expressed his full confidence in Judge Kuntz and pledged the continued support of the court.
