Judges Levenson and Gillespie honored at Broward County Bar’s 2025 Gala

Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Judges Jeffrey R. Levenson and Kenneth Gillespie were honored at the Broward County Bar Association’s (BCBA) 2025 Annual Installation Dinner & Gala, celebrating its 100th anniversary.
The event took place on June 21 at the Ritz-Carlton in Ft. Lauderdale.

Judge Levenson received the Stephen R. Booher Award, presented in recognition of his “humanity, integrity, and dedication to the Bench, Bar, and community.” Judge Levenson currently serves in the Circuit Civil Division.
Judge Gillespie was honored with the Executive Director’s Award, acknowledging his “outstanding commitment, loyalty, and service to the Bar and legal community.” Judge Gillespie serves as the administrative judge of the Probate Division.
Chief Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips praised both honorees, stating, “Their dedication and contributions to the legal community are truly commendable.”
Both judges expressed humility and gratitude for the recognition.
“I share this recognition with the dedicated judges, attorneys, judicial assistants, deputies, and clerks who are the backbone of our courthouse,” said Judge Levenson. “The people of Broward County are fortunate to have the support of the BCBA, an organization deeply committed to justice, ethics, legal education, and public service.”
Judge Gillespie added, “I am both honored and humbled by this recognition. Personally, it reinforces a principle I’ve always instilled in my children: ‘Commit and follow through.’ Once you commit, it becomes your responsibility to follow through.”
