Justice Couriel to address ABOTA Ft. Lauderdale’s awards ceremony

Since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, ABOTA Florida chapters have worked tirelessly to help their members adapt, with some helping local judges design and implement remote jury trials.

On January 15, 2021, recently appointed Florida Supreme Court Justice John Couriel.

will return the favor when he delivers the keynote address for ABOTA Ft. Lauderdale’s 2021 Annual Awards Ceremony.

“While we aren’t going to be in person, this promises to be a unique and worthwhile ceremony directed by SCP [Swamp City Productions] Legal that will make you proud to be a part of the ABOTA legal community,” the group said in a December 9 email blast.

Beginning at noon, new executive officers – President Brent Reitman, President-elect Eric Rosen, and Secretary Angela Castronovo – will announce the recipients of the “Judge of the Year” and “Trial Lawyer of the Year” awards, according to the announcement.

Last year’s winners were 17th Circuit Judge Jeffrey Levenson and attorney Daniel Harwin, respectively.

“Be a part of this celebration of all that is good in the legal profession,” the email urges.
