Keller Swan completes its first-ever summer internship program

Keller Swan interns Brodie Bartelt, Nicholas Polo, Jason Roberson, and Selin Vainstein.
Keller Swan in Jupiter welcomed four law students into its inaugural summer internship program, which ended in August.
The program provided immersive, hands-on experience in personal injury litigation, giving interns the opportunity to contribute to active cases, observe courtroom proceedings, and learn directly from the firm’s experienced trial attorneys.
- Brodie Bartelt, a rising second-year law student at the Santa Clara University School of Law and graduate of the University of Southern California, gained hands-on exposure to trial work by observing opening statements in multiple cases and supporting case development with attorneys and staff. Before law school, he worked in personal injury law as an assistant case manager, and he is currently involved with the law school’s Bronco Entrepreneurs’ Applied Collaboration Hub, serving as a legal mentor to small businesses and startups in Santa Clara, California.
- Nicholas Polo, a rising second-year law student at St. Thomas University College of Law, earned his undergraduate degree in political science and business from Florida State University. During his internship, he focused on applying his academic foundation to practical litigation tasks, such as legal writing, case preparation, and client matters; gaining insight through interactions with local judges; and developing his skills in a collaborative environment.
- Jason Roberson, a third-year law student at the University of Mississippi School of Law and graduate of Morehouse College, focused his internship on trial preparation and litigation strategy, assisting attorneys both in and out of the courtroom, bringing prior experience from internships in both corporate and law firm settings. He is active in leadership and advocacy roles at law school, including the Trial Advocacy Board, the Animal Defense Legal Fund, and the Low-Income Housing Clinic.
- Selin Vainstein, a second-year law student at New England Law Boston in Massachusetts and graduate of York University’s Glendon Campus in Ontario, Canada, strengthened her litigation skills by practicing opening and closing statements and observing trials in court. She is active in several law school organizations, including volunteering with the CORI Initiative – a student-directed, limited-practice organization that provides criminal record-sealing services for indigent clients, as well as the Jewish Law Student Association, and Phi Alpha Delta, bringing an advocacy-driven perspective to her work at the firm.
“We recognized the tremendous value of meaningful, practical experience for law students,” said firm Co-founder and CEO Chris Keller. “Our internship program was designed not only to teach legal skills but also to inspire and prepare the next generation of lawyers to succeed in and out of the courtroom.”
The internship program included shadowing attorneys in client meetings, depositions, and court hearings; participating in trial advocacy workshops; contributing to substantive case work; and networking with top legal professionals.
