Lee County Clerk now offers virtual lines for court services

Linda DoggettThe Lee County Clerk’s Office now offers ClerkExpress, a new service that allows customers to check-in via text message to avoid waiting in the lobbies for court services.

Before customers leave their house, they can text “getinline” to 866-915-9224. They will receive a text message prompting them to choose a location and service. Then they are prompted to text back when they arrive at the Clerk’s office. Once ready to be served, the customer will receive another text message advising them to proceed to the lobby.

“We encourage online services whenever possible, but if you do need to conduct your court business in-house, with social distancing guidelines in place, there is limited space in our lobbies,” said Linda Doggett, Lee County Clerk of Courts. “Now customers can wait in the convenience and safety of their own car until they are ready to be served.”

For added convenience, the Clerk’s office also provides customers with a QR code that auto-populates the text message to the ClerkExpress system.

The new service is available now only for court service appointments at the downtown Justice Center complex on Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

Before making the trip, customers are advised to check the clerk’s website to see if any specific documents or payment methods are required.
