Legal aid programs in Broward County host 2022 Annual Recognition Awards

Pro BonoThe Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS) and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA) recently honored legal professionals for their commitment to ensuring access to justice for some of the most vulnerable members of the community during their Annual Recognition Awards ceremonies held during Law Week, May 2 – 6.

The awards were presented to each honoree during a series of online live events through the organization’s Facebook pages at Facebook.com/CoastToCoastLegalAid and Facebook.com/LegalAidBroward. To promote a better understanding of the law and its role in society, CCLA and LAS hold their recognition ceremonies during the nationally observed Law Week which starts May 1 each year.

The 2022 award recipients include:

Attorney of the Year – Jay Cohen.

Law Firm of the Year – Tripp Scott, Attorneys at Law

Spirit of Justice Award – Chad Van Horn.

Commitment to Justice Award – Kathleen Pugh.

Russel E. Carlisle Advocacy Award – Lorna Brown Burton.

Jacquelyn and Bruce Rogow Employee of the Year – Laurie Yadoff.

 During the series of online virtual events, legal professionals, community leaders, and friends/families gathered to watch each honoree receive their award as they made brief remarks.
