Legal Services Corporation holds first executive directors conference in 10 years
Chief executive officers and executive directors from Legal Services Corporation funded programs across the country recently gathered in Washington, D.C., to focus on leadership and furthering the outreach and impact of legal aid organizations. It was the first such gathering in 10 years.
Executives from Merck, United Airlines, and Edelman spoke on leadership panels, sharing insights about their journeys, the challenges they have encountered, and how they navigated their organizations through the pandemic. As well as how to lead in a post-pandemic world.
Community Legal Services CEO Jeff Harvey was also a panelist, covering topics including strategies for fostering the next generation of civil legal aid leaders and using outcomes data to improve performance.
The 2022 LSC Executive Director Conference allowed leaders to build upon each other’s experience and knowledge to help implement advanced legal aid services in their communities, improving the well-being of constituencies throughout the country.
Conference participants from Florida included Jaffe S. Pickett, executive director of Florida Rural Legal Services, Monica Vigues-Pitan, executive director of Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., Leslie Powell-Boudreaux , executive director of Legal Services of North Florida, and Jeff Harvey, CEO of Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida.
