LSGMLegal Services of Greater Miami (Legal Services) understands first hand that the need for legal assistance is greater and more critical in the midst of this COVID-19 public health emergency.

This is a time when the most vulnerable members – including the elderly, homeless, disabled, and children among others in our community will struggle to maintain employment and affordable housing, as well as access to health care, food and other basic necessities, according to Monica Vigues-Pitan, executive director at Legal Services of Greater Miami.  These are all the areas in which Legal Services provides representation.

“Our role during this difficult time is to be the first line of defense for low-income individuals and families, as well as a resource for our community, ” said Vigues-Pitan. “We want the community to know we are here for them, and our attorneys are ready and available to respond to their pressing legal needs.”

Legal Services has been serving the community for over 50 years and remains committed to its mission of providing equal justice to all, therefore, will continue to provide free civil legal assistance in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.  Although walk-in services have temporarily been suspended, Legal Services continues to accept intake applications via telephone at 305-576-0080 and online.
