Mattern named the Foundation’s interim director of technology
The Florida Bar Foundation has hired Orlando attorney Eli Mattern as its interim director of technology.
Mattern will manage the Foundation’s technology portfolio and assist in the development of its long-term technology goals. The Foundation recently acquired several technology assets including FloridaNameChange.org, Turning18.org, and FloridaLawHelp.org.
Mattern, who co-founded legal tech firm SavvySuit and served as its CEO and general counsel for the past five years, will also coordinate with stakeholders, identify how technology can improve access to justice and support the Foundation’s mission, and develop best practices and performance metrics. The Foundation and SavvySuit created the Florida Pro Bono Matters and the Florida Pro Bono Law School Challenge platforms.
Mattern previously worked as operations manager and data analyst for Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida and as a staff attorney for Brevard County Legal Aid. She currently serves on The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Technology and was the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section’s wellness chair from 2017-19.
