Susan Norton, a shareholder at the Miami-based firm Allen Norton & Blue, had the honor of participating in a Public Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery in September.
Norton was invited by the Department of Defense to take part in the ceremony as part of a reunion for alumni of the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC).
Established in 1948, JCOC is an outreach program sponsored by the Secretary of Defense, designed to provide influential American business and community leaders with an immersive experience in the U.S. military. Norton was among a select group of alumni who gathered for this ceremony, paying tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes.
Public Affairs Assistant to the Secretary of Defense Christopher Meagher (back center) joined JCOC alumni for the wreath-laying event at the monument, which stands as a symbol of respect and remembrance for soldiers who gave their lives in service to the country.
The event marks a significant moment of reflection for participants and highlights the ongoing collaboration between military leadership and civilian community leaders.
