More permanent tech support helpline being negotiated
The Board Technology Committee is negotiating with a vendor for the potential addition of a tech support helpline as a service to Bar members.
The Board of Governors in January approved a three-month beta test with Bar consultant Law Tech Partners. The test included detailed reports of service calls, response times, and user surveys.
The beta test was deemed a success, Board Technology Committee Chair Paige Greenlee told fellow board members at a July meeting on Miami Beach.
“Overwhelmingly, this project is something that our members really, really appreciated,” she said. “Members begged for it in the comments to the survey.”
One of several projects Bar leaders proposed to help members cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, the helpline was designed to offer routine tech support to solo and small-firm practitioners.
The committee is negotiating a one-year contract with Law Tech Partners, the same provider who provided services during the 3-month beta.
The proposal is undergoing a Program Evaluation Committee and Budget Committee review. The recommendation requires board approval.
The Board Technology Committee is scheduled to deliver a report at a December 3 Board of Governors meeting on Amelia Island.
