Philip H. Ward III of Ward Damon has been appointed chair of Palm Beach County’s Board of Commissioners’ volunteer Health Care District Board.

Lara Donlon and Jon O’Connell of Torcivia, Donlon, Goddea & Ansay in West Palm Beach presented “Identifying and Planning for Emergencies in the Workplace With Recent Developments in Labor and Employment Law” at the Annual Conference hosted by the Human Resource Association of Palm Beach County.

Roy B. Gonas of Coral Gables, a Fulbright Specialist grantee, will teach certificate courses in international commercial arbitration this fall at the National University, Odessa Academy of Law, and University of Lviv, Ukraine.

Forrest K. Clinard of Atlanta is the 2015 recipient of the North Fulton Bar Association’s President Award for outstanding service to the association and community.

Brett M. Amron of Bast Amron in Boca Raton spoke at the ABA Family Law Spring Conference on “Bankruptcy Ins and Outs of Dischargeability: Avoiding a Malpractice Threat” in San Diego.

Erica K. Smith of Fisher & Sauls in St. Petersburg received the May 2015 Volunteer of the Month Award from the Community Law Program, which provides free legal services to low-income individuals. Smith is also president-elect of the St. Petersburg Bar Association.

Jill F. Bechtold of Marks Gray of Jacksonville has been appointed to the Jacksonville Children’s Commission board to represent School Board District 7.

Melanie Ann Hines, Tallahassee, and S. Daniel Ponce, Miami, of Berger Singerman have been reappointed by U.S. Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio to the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission.

Glen J. Torcivia of Torcivia, Donlon, Goddeau & Ansay in West Palm Beach was named “Associate Member of the Year” at the League of Cities’ Installation Gala.

Cindy Crawford of Greenspoon Marder in West Palm Beach was selected into the 2015 Class of Leaders in the Law by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

Ann E. Finnell was recognized as the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association’s 2015 Woman Lawyer of the Year for her service and contributions to JWLA.

Gene K. Glasser of Greenspoon Marder in Ft. Lauderdale was named a Spirit of Healing Award Honoree at the 2015 Circle of Friends Luncheon presented by the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Brian H. Koch of Greenberg Traurig in Ft. Lauderdale has been named the 2015 Ft. Lauderdale Man of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for raising the most money among an extraordinary group of candidates.

Jorge P. Gutierrez, Jr., of Freedland Harwin Valori in Ft. Lauderdale testified before the Congressional Subcommittees on Federal Lands and Water, Power and Oceans in Washington, D.C., regarding the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act of 2015.

Brian R. Toung of Daytona Beach has been awarded, with high distinction, Ph.D.s in Holistic Natural Health and Nutrition and Holistic Sports Nutrition by the University and College of Natural Health in Indianapolis with high distinction.

Stefanie C. Moon of S.C. Moon Law in Ft. Lauderdale​ spoke on the Broward County Bar’s panel presentation titled “What to Do When the Feds Come Knocking” and the Southern District of Florida’s Law Day panel presentation entitled “Challenges and Paths to Success.”

Julie Sellers of Pursley Friese Torgrimson in Atlanta presented “The Updates and Trends in Zoning and Land Use” at the 37th Annual Real Property Law Institute continuing education seminar of the State Bar of Georgia in Sandestin.

Brigid F. Cech Samole of Greenberg Traurig in Miami has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Chapman Partnership for the Homeless.

Franklin Homer of Greenspoon Marder in Boca Raton was elected vice president of the Saint Andrew’s School Alumni Board.

Thomas Newcomb Hyde of Tampa presented “Resolving Professionalism Complaints” to the Plant City Bar Association, on behalf of the 13th Judicial Circuit’s Professionalism Committee.

Jerome L. Wolf of Duane Morris in Boca Raton presented “The Basics of Residency, Domicile, and Key Factors” at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel summer meeting in Québec and was an instructor at the Annual Florida Graduate Trust and Wealth Management School in Orlando.

Jennifer G. Roeper of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick in Tampa has been appointed to the advisory board (Pasco County) of Metropolitan Ministries as it builds new housing units and expands its ability to serve the homeless of Pasco County.

Cornelius C. Demps of the Florida Office of the Attorney General in Tampa received a Florida Supreme Court Pro Bono Award for his work with Bay Area Legal Services in Clearwater.

John A. Greco of the City of Miami Office of the City Attorney published “Appeals of Local Government Decisions: Constraints on Judicial Review Before, During, and After the Appeal” in the Stetson Law Review.
