Roy L. Weinfeld presented “Understanding the Commercial Letter of Intent” to the Attorneys Real Estate Council of Miami-Dade County.

Lee A. Weintraub of Becker was invited by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program to share his expertise in a series of P3 training workshops on behalf of the U.S. federal government for governments of eight Asian countries.

Professor H.T. Smith of FIU College of Law in Miami was presented the Robert L. Shevin Public Service Award by the Dade County Bar.

Edith G. Osman of Carlton Fields in Miami was selected as the winner of the University of Miami School of Law’s Henry Latimer Professionalism Award

Steven M. Berman of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick in Tampa was sworn in to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Robert J. Becerra of Becerra Law, P.A. presented the Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association luncheon seminar “Fraud Cases in International Trade and Criminal Enforcement.”

Jessica D. Ehrlich was named to the City of St. Petersburg Development Review Commission.

John Leighton of Leighton law spoke on “Pinata Discovery: Getting the Discovery and Testimony You Need In Your Case” at the American Association for Justice annual convention in San Diego. He also presented “Developing Rules and Standards” at The National College of Advocacy Depositions College in Chicago.

Jennifer Lipinski of Gordon & Partners was elected chair of the New Lawyers Division for the American Association for Justice.

Sean F. Thompson of Liberman Cabrera Thompson & Reitman moderated “Winning with Experts and Evidence” at the Broward County Bar Association Bench and Bar Convention.

Matt Schwencke of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley has become a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Michael Haggard and Todd Michaels of the Haggard Law Firm presented “The Battle Over Security at Commercial Properties” and “Human Trafficking: What You Need to Know” at the Global Security Exchange Conference in Chicago.
