It was a spooky themed celebration of love and marriage at the Osceola County Historical Courthouse this Halloween. A total of 14 couples participated in this first of it’s kind experience in Osceola County.

Eleven couples committed to “until death do us part” and one couple re-committed their eternal love during the English Ceremony at 10 a.m. Two couples said “I boo” at the Spanish Ceremony at 2 p.m.

The ceremonies were officiated by Kelvin Soto, Osceola Clerk of the Circuit Court & County Comptroller, and Rob Willhoit, chief of staff for the office.

Guests enjoyed themed music with no tricks, only treats, with festive cupcakes by Candyland Designs, a local Kissimmee bakery. Family and friends surrounded their loved ones in celebration. One couple, Nicholas and Philippa, traveled from the U.K. to participate in the HalloWedding Scare-A-Marry & reception.

The vow renewal ceremony was a request from Jean Jupa and her husband Tory Sims. For them, Halloween isn’t just a holiday, it’s a lifestyle. They arrived in their authentic hearse, appropriately named “EDeath” and drove their “Just Married” hearse to their post vow renewal celebrations.

Since taking office in 2021, Soto and his new executive staff have taken every opportunity to fulfill their organizational aspirations one of which is to advance the well-being of all, one person at a time.

The ceremony was live streamed on Soto’s Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s Facebook page.
